My Book Shelf

The following is a list of books that I use, quote or from which I have drawn inspiration.  It is by no means comprehensive and I present it only as a jumping off point for your own foodie travels.  It is very much a work in progress and, at present, represents only those books that I own that I can be bothered getting off the shelf and dusting.

  • Modern Cookery for Private Families – Eliza Acton – ISBN 9781844009596 – Quadrille Publishing 2011.

Originally published in 1845, it is less well-known than Mrs Beaton’s Book of Household Management, which is a shame as Beaton lifted large chunks from it without the slightest hint of shame or attribution.
