Handmade in the ancient Moroccan city of Fez, these marmettes are made of traditional glazed terracotta with a clear, food-safe glaze, and are a wonderful hybrid between a Moroccan tajine and a traditional French casserole. Perfect for slow cooking, a marmette will give you both the succulence of a traditional tagine with the extra capacity of a casserole. Once properly seasoned, the marmette can be used in an oven, over a traditional charcoal burner (see catalogue), or over a normal gas hob if a simmer mat is used. It is NOT recommended for use on an electic element or induction stove. 31cm in diameter, 31cm tall (including lid), volume 3.5 litres for base only.
